Located just around the corner from their practice space, we’ll be playing a FREE full band all-acoustic set on Monday, April 8 in the North Star Bar‘s divinely unique Victorian Dining Room on the venue’s second floor.

Yes, that says FREE.

And it also says all-acoustic — which apparently means no PA, too. Neato.

We’ll be going on at about 10 p.m. What better way to spend your Monday night?

All right, kids, we’re a go on a show at Johnny Brenda’s on Thursday, March 21 opening for the excellent Little Green Cars and Dan Croll.

This will be our third time at Johnny Brenda’s. Every time has been awesome. The goal: Keep that up.

Doors open at 8 p.m. and we start at 9 p.m. Tickets be going fast. RSVP if you’d like.

A monster series of thanks is in order for everyone who helped make last night’s Philly Raw Artists Showcase at LiT UltraBar so special and unique, what with all the fog machines and the body paint and world-famous violinists (who didn’t end up playing with us, but that’s neither here nor there).

To all the musicians, craftspeople, painters, photographers and other artists we met, you are very cool and we are uber-pleased to be associated with you.

We also hope everyone who received a free CD of our eponymous EP enjoys it. By our count we gave out nearly 300 CDs last night, including a handful to a woman who said she’d send them to troops stationed in Kuwait. Whoa.

Next up: Our return to Johnny Brenda’s, one of our favorite venues in the city, when we open for Little Green Cars on March 21. More info coming soon…

This will be something you don’t see everyday.

On Thursday, February 28, we’re taking part in the RAW Artists’ Showcase at Lit UltraBar in Old City in Philadelphia.

In addition to the five other awesome Philly bands listed on the flyer above, there will also be filmmakers, photographers, fashion designers, and many more — about 40 artists in all — coming together in one place to talk about and look at and hear art.

It sounds pretty awesome, in our opinion.

And now, things get more interesting because Boyd Tinsley from Dave Matthews Band will be screening his new film at RAW and will also be playing with a few of the bands. How about that?

Anyway, the show is going to be great — like no other show we’ve ever played before. We are told it is guaranteed to sell out, so we’d recommend you snagging your tickets ahead of time. They’re $15 now, and $20 at the door the night of (if tickets are still available).

We just played a crazy fun show at Milkboy Philadelphia over the weekend, and if you couldn’t be there, we’ll never forgive you. Kidding, you’re great.

Anyway, we played a song we’ve been playing for about a year now called “How the Future Works.” It’ll be on the new record. Now you can hear it thanks to a video our friend Brendan Lafferty took.

After several months off to work on our new LP and try out some new material, we return to the live arena this Saturday with a show at Milkboy Philly with Seamus Browning and Shorty Boy-Boy.

We’re looking at a very eclectic setlist — some old songs (include one we haven’t played in over four years), some stuff from the upcoming record and two brand new songs we’re planning on debuting (with the exciting working titles of “Creepy Surf Song” and “Kevin Newer Song”).
